Realtor.com gives agents an AI assistant that suggests the next move
Announced on 6 October 2026, RealAssist AI for agents writes a daily digest per client and drafts actions the agent approves. It caps a year in which the big portals all went conversational.

On 6 October 2026, Realtor.com, the US property portal operated by News Corp’s Move, Inc., announced RealAssist AI for agents. It is not a chatbot for buyers. It is an assistant inside the agent’s workspace, built to suggest what to do next for each client.
The launch closes a year in which the largest portals in the US and the UK all moved from search boxes to conversation. Here is what was announced, and what it tells agencies in Morocco and the Arab world.
What RealAssist AI for agents does
According to the company’s release, the assistant is part of Realtor.com+, a shared home search space for agents and their clients, built with local MLSs and launched in January 2026. It brings three capabilities:
- Client and search setup: it guides the agent through adding clients and co-buyers, records their preferences and notes, and builds more precise searches.
- Daily digest: for each client, it summarises chats, searches, notifications and price changes, with suggested next steps.
- Agentic actions: it recommends and helps carry out tasks, such as refining a search with professional MLS fields or drafting a message in the agent’s style. The agent reviews and approves every action.
The release says Realtor.com+ is live in 21 markets, with four more coming, and counts more than 192,000 agents and nearly 252,000 listings. Anna Marie Castiglioni, head of Realtor.com Next, described the goal as turning the platform “into an agent’s proactive partner”.
The buyer side came first
The agent tool follows the consumer version. On 2 June 2026, Realtor.com launched RealAssist AI for buyers in beta, powered by Google’s Gemini. It lets people search by conversation, compare homes and neighbourhoods, search by real commute times, get plain-language affordability breakdowns and book tours, with real-time guardrails meant to support Fair Housing compliance.
A year of conversational portals
Realtor.com was not alone:
- Rightmove (UK): on 12 February 2026, it began testing conversational search built with Google Cloud and Gemini, with a “Use AI” button in the search bar. In March, it said it had built and submitted an app for ChatGPT.
- Zillow (US): on 25 March 2026, it announced “AI mode”, an “Ask Zillow” assistant that compares listings, estimates renovation costs, gives negotiation insights and books tours. It is in beta, with a phased rollout through 2026, and includes a Fair Housing classifier that blocks non-compliant answers.
Three ideas repeat in all these launches: describe what you want in your own words, keep the context from one session to the next, and hand over to a human professional at the right moment.
The detail that matters most: approval
The most important line in the agent release is not about AI. It is that the agent “reviews and approves every action”. Drafting a message is cheap. Sending the wrong one to a client is not. The best assistants in 2026 prepare the work and leave the decision to the professional.
The daily digest is the other idea worth copying. An agent with 40 active clients cannot reread every conversation each morning. A short summary per client, with one suggested next step, turns scattered messages into a plan.
What a Moroccan agency can take from this
- Answer in the client’s language, including Darija, and at night.
- Capture the same few facts every time: budget, city, timing, type of property.
- Summarise each morning who needs a call, a visit or a document.
- Keep a human in charge of offers, prices and commitments.
That is the job of Quick Agent: it replies on WhatsApp, email and Instagram in under a minute, qualifies the request and sends a clickable report every morning at 08:00. kawnium has no link with Realtor.com, Zillow or Rightmove.
